Afterwards I got really into sampling and 4-track cassette recording\n                    and mixing beats and classical music together. Then I got into singing and influenced by the\n                    Bristol scene like Portishead and Massive Attack. My first release was with Ninja Tune.\"\u003C\u002Fp> \u003Cp class=\"my-5\">Although Emika became a skilled pianist thanks to\n                    her lessons and burning drive to create, the instrument she chose to focus on was the\n                    recording software itself. Shaping sounds, twisting samples, layer upon layer, and\n                    performing rather than simply hitting the “play” button.\u003C\u002Fp> \u003Cp class=\"quote boldnbig my-0\">\"I decided to switch to sound design and\n                    synthesis, because I felt this world was very free and there are many possibilities with\n                    this technology.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv> \u003Cdiv class=\"col-12 col-sm-8 my-5\">\u003Cp class=\"h3 small\">To bring her music to the impressive stage of the Zeiss planetarium, Emika\n                        uses an Arturia KeyLab MkII controller keyboard: an all-in-one control solution that\n                    lets you control your DAW, send signals to other audio gear, play virtual instruments with\n                    keys and pads, mix on the fly, trigger samples, and change patches all at once.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fdiv> \u003Cdiv class=\"col-12 col-sm-7\">\u003Cp class=\"quote boldnbig\">\"I’m using the KeyLab 49 MkII, running with Ableton, that allows me to\n                    be truly musical\"\u003C\u002Fp> \u003Cp class=\"quote mt-5\">\"The KeyLab MkII feels like home; it’s a keyboard\n                    but it also works as a controller. I have volume control for the synths and FX that I route\n                    for the piano.
